Leben in Deutschland: Practise State Questions
Prepare the state-specific part of Leben in Deutschland. Choose the right federal state, organize official material and review visual questions.
Three of the 33 Leben in Deutschland questions concern the relevant federal state. Prepare that state’s material alongside the general questions. A good national practice score can hide a gap in the state-specific part.
Confirm the state before collecting questions
Select the state relevant to your test using the official preparation material, and confirm it with your provider if your residence or test arrangements have changed. Keep one labeled set rather than mixing questions from several states. When a practice site offers many state choices, the number of choices is a navigation feature, not a reason to learn all states equally for your own test.
Build a small comparison sheet
- Write the state name and the official source you are using.
- Record the state capital and institutions covered by that material.
- For a coat of arms or map question, practise with the official visual rather than a guessed description.
- Keep the answer and your explanation together, but cover both when testing yourself.
- Note the source-check date when a fact can change.
Original sorting exercise
Make three headings: federal level, state level and municipality. Place Bundestag under federal level, a state parliament under state level and city council under municipality. This is an original learning activity, not a reproduction of the question catalogue. Its purpose is to prevent you from confusing institutions that have similar-sounding names.
For visual questions, describe what distinguishes the correct symbol from the alternatives after you have checked the official answer. Then cover your notes and identify it again later. Avoid invented drawings that might omit the detail the question tests. A text explanation alone cannot replace seeing the relevant image.
Combine local and general practice
Finish with a fresh mixed set that reflects the 30-general/3-state split. Review incorrect and uncertain answers separately. If you keep missing state questions, schedule a short local-material session before the next full test instead of repeatedly practising only your strongest topics. The practice link below opens our general LiD library, which currently has no federal-state selector. Use the official BAMF preparation material for your state-specific questions.
